CONCRETE REPAIRS WITHIN THE NBS SPECIFICATION SYSTEM
Within the NBS specification system in chapter 21 concrete work sections 24 to 25, much attention has been paid to the elaboration of the repair and protection of concrete structures. This entire process is based on the EN 1504 series of standards for both the products and the execution. This has
major consequences for the description in the specifications and the requirements for implementation and reporting that a contractor of
the work must suffice.
The EN 1504 standards series
The products are categorized under parts 2 to 7:

â– EN 1504 - 4 structural adhesion;
â– EN 1504 - 5 concrete injection;
â– EN 1504 - 6 anchoring of reinforcing steel;
â– EN 1504 - 7 reinforcement of corrosion protection.
The execution of the repairs is categorized under parts 9 and 10:
â– EN 1504 - 9 principles for the use of
products and systems;
â– EN 1504 - 10 application of products on the construction site
and quality control at work.
The EN 1504-9 principles for the use of products and
systems:
1. Information about the construction
Within part 9 of EN 1504 the principles are included with the corresponding
Information about the construction. At the start of a project is a study

2. Assessment process
There should be an in-depth investigation into the visible and not yet
visible defects in a structure, in order to determine the root causes of the damage
