Forbo Eurocol Nederland BV stems from a private company, the NV Nederlandsche Linoleumfabriek in Krommenie, which originally produced floor coverings. In order to be able to offer the customer a total package, they also started producing adhesives, leveling, maintenance and cleaning products. A separate department was active for this. These 'by-products' for floor coverings were eagerly sought after by processors and other buyers, as a result of which the importance of this department grew rapidly.

FloorDesign is a finishing layer with the basic appearance of
unfinished flat concrete, with a choice of several
colors. After extensive development and testing came
the Product Development department of Forbo Eurocol
with the innovative 395 FloorDesign solution. A
layer of approximately 3 mm thick with the 'looks' of concrete,
but without the disadvantages such as dust formation or fast
pollution.
